What I'm Wearing Weekly: August 26-30

Funny tidbit on the heels I'm wearing today: I drove to Target after work yesterday to buy some nude pumps. Target is kind of a pain to get to from my work, so I don't go very often. Get to Target and realize I left my wallet at work. Boooooo.

So I return to work, grab my wallet, and stop by a nearby Goodwill to scratch my shopping itch since I refuse to go to that Target twice in one day during rush hour.

And what do you know, the very first pair of shoes I see, in brand new condition, are the exact pair, in my size, that I was going to buy at Target originally--for $25 less than what I would've paid at Target! Is that shopping serendipity or what??

Anyway, here's what I wore this week. For other editions of WIWW, please click here,  here, here, here, here, here,  here, here,  here,  here, herehere and here :)

What I'm Wearing Weekly: August 26-30

I haven't posted what I'm wearing on the weekends lately because it's just been the same old workout clothes! Truth be told, I spent all day Saturday and Sunday recuperating from my half marathon, so I was in grubby sweats and ice bags all weekend!

Have a great weekend lovelies!

Truth in blogging: In these boards I try to use the exact items I own, but if those items aren't available online I've replaced them with visually similar items. This week, I actually own: Monday's shoes, Tuesday's pants and booties (I didn't pay that price tho! ;), Wednesday's pants, necklace, and shoes, Thursday's dress, and Friday's pants and heels.

Weekly Wishlist: Nature Luxe Edition

It all started when I discovered this gilded lampshade and this Robert Abbey Delta-esque lamp base from Target. Put the two together, and BAM I was off and running, pinning a wide array of neutral-but-luxe items that all happened to look lovely together for this week's Weekly Wishlist:

Weekly Wishlist: Neutral Luxe Edition

Although I have absolutely no place for that lamp/shade combo, I feel the need to buy and hoard them for a future home. Does that ever happen to anyone else??

Swingy LBD: 3 options

I've been a long-time admirer of the Joie Topaz dress for its easy-going ways and ability to multitask. Dress it up with a statement necklace or down with a pair of Converse and bam, you've got an entire vacation wardrobe wrapped up in one little silk dress.

I'm not, however, a fan of its price tag ($278 normally, although it's now on sale for the low low price of $195 at some stores). So when I came across a couple other options, I thought I'd share!

Swingy LBD: 3 options

I think I actually may like the middle one from Club Monaco best--I'll definitely be waiting to see if it goes on sale! In the meantime, though, the Victoria's Secret option may be worth taking a look!

What I'm Wearing Weekly: August 19-23

Man, another week has flown on by! I went to a Kid Cudi concert last night so I'm dragging a bit today and dressed all monochrome to reflect my inner emotions (so deep...)....but the weekend is upon us!!

Tomorrow I'm running my first half marathon in over 5 years....should be interesting to say the least, since I only signed up/started training for it last Monday. I fully realize that this is a stupid plan, and I anticipate that next week's fashion post will feature ice packs and ibuprofen ;)

Weekly Wishlist: Green and Gilded

My ongoing love for gorgeous greens and gilt anything continues with this week's Weekly Wishlist. Lately I've been feelin' fall-ish (Mother Nature must think this is hilarious, given the bazillion-degree weather we've been having for the last month or so), so there is a healthy dose of black (p)leather as well

Green and Gilded

(As always, click on the image to take you to the product links)

Left to right:
Malachite Wallpaper: Anthropologie is killing it lately with their home decor section, and if this wallpaper weren't $200+ a roll I'd snag some for some fun DIYs in my new living room plan.

Gilded Mirror: I want to put this in a charcoal-grey bathroom with a minimalist vanity and some peachy-pink fluffy towels.

Fancy-Pants Scroll Mirror: this would make for a stunning entryway!

Wood/Glam stool: the price on this stool is redonk but it's just so so pretty! Perfect mix of rustic glam.

Green Hook: I'm seriously considering these hooks as curtain hold-backs in my living room plan.

Gold shorts: could be hideous (most likely are)...but they're kind of fun too.

Green Hammock: they have an all-black one that is equal parts chic to this green one's spunky.

Pleather pants: I have been looking for a good pair of leather-look skinny pants...may just have to stop by H&M soon.

Leather shorts: I also like the shorts version. Wear with flat sandals and a breezy tank now, then pair with tights, booties, and a knit sweater once the temps drop.

Wall Hook: picture this with a stained wood board on top. Chic shelving, no?

Grey Dress: I want to run all my errands, every weekend, ever, in this. Pair with chucks and a jean jacket.

Nude tshirt: These Asos tees look perfectly slouchy and soft. I like the nude color--just as versatile as white or grey, but less expected.

Bow bracelet: Every outfit would be made better with this fun little guy.

Gold Tray: Doesn't look like it comes from World Market, now does it? If I had a girly dressing room this would go on my vanity to house all the pretty perfume bottles I don't own.

Black lucite wedges: These would probably get scuffed and look like shit sofast, but while they lasted, they would be amazing. Pair with any of the clothing items shown here!

Green knob: I kinda want to buy these and add them to the console in my living room.

Gold bracelet: This looks like you could wear it with anything! Brings a little bling to your average chain link bracelet.

Black boots: with a thick chunky heel, you can't go wrong. Leggings and a long knit sweater, mmmmm......I want fall!

Robert Allen Malakos Malachite Pillow Pairings

Since discovering the Robert Allen Malakos Malachite fabric I'm going to use to make my have my mother make me pillows (thanks Mom!!), I've been on the hunt for some accent pillows to round out my room design. At first I had a hard time since the green is so vibrant. Then I came across a whole bunch of pairings I liked, so I thought I'd show them off!

Here goes:

Pillow Trios

Pillow Trios by mjchirpich-1 on Polyvore

Although not all of these pairings will be approved in my boy-centric home, I had a fun time imagining what kind of living room I'd design based on each of the pillow trios. First up, boho:

Boho Living Room

The lucky owner of this living room is probably an artist (with a trust fund--that sofa ain't cheap!).

Gilded Living Room

I want to touch all the different textures in this room! As a largely neutral room, the vibrant green pillow wakes everything else up and makes sure neutral doesn't mean boring.

Meow Living Room

I like the two different cat-print pillows here, and the grey of the cowhide is so pretty!

Floral Living Room

I imagine this as the living room of a young lady just out of college--a bit more pulled-together than a dorm, but still fun and youthful.

Tonal Living Room

This room's a bit cold for my taste, but I can imagine it in the home of a someone in finance who works insane hours and is rarely home (so the white sofa can stay clean!)

I actually just put in an order for a half yard of the vibrant watercolor ikat on the first pairing--it's so gorgeous! Maybe I can also DIY some tie-dye pillows like the ones shown?

Which pairing is your favorite?

H&M Goes Online! Plus a World Market stripe dhurrie review

This week I just found out that an old fashion stand-by, H&M, has finnnnnnaaaaaaallllly opened its online store in the US! This also includes their H&M Home branch.  Although most of their stuff looks like you bought it at H&M or Forever21, here are a few of my favorites:

H&M Home Goes Online!

That pink pillow comes in a million different colors. It's also available in other fabrics like velvet and canvas and is only $6! H&M's version of Ikea's Gurli?

If I lived alone and could do girly things like pink pillows in my living room, I might incorporate a few of those items like this:

H&M Pillows

On a related note, my World Market black and white stripe dhurrie arrived, and it's beautiful! I love it mucho mucho. It's exactly as pictured--a cotton dhurrie with black and off-white stripes. The lighter portion definitely is not white but rather a cream/natural cotton color, which I personally prefer because it hides dirt/puppy hair more easily than pure white. It seems really durable and is a great size for  my 3-seater sofa. I posted this on Instagram:

Don't mind the dog...or her toys.....or the curtains I plan to replace immediately. Feel free to love up on my sofa that will be getting slipcovered soon! ;)

...and my friend wasn't even sure it was the same living room! That's a testament to the power of rugs if I've ever heard one ;)

What I'm Wearing Weekly: July 27-August 2

You know how usually the week before a vacation just draaaaags? Well this week I found the opposite to be true. I'm currently sitting in the SLC airport awaiting a flight home for a week of fun, sun, lake activities, friends, and family. I've been waiting for this allllllll summer and it's finally/already here!

This week was crazy. My boyfriend owns a food truck and put in 23 hours yesterday alone! My work has really picked up lately too, so this vacation comes at the perfect time.

Here's what I wore this week. For other editions of WIWW, please click here, here, here,  here, here,  here,  here, herehere and here :)

What I'm Wearing Weekly: July 3-August 2

Last weekend was spent working on the house, so I'll spare you the grungy clothes images ;) Then the rest of the week was such a rush, I just threw on whatever had at hand, resulting in some pretty simple, comfortable outfits. Now I'm in the airport rocking out my maxi dress as per usual airport style ;)

Any fun plans this weekend? I'm probably going to be a bit AWOL this week so I can really soak up the sun, but I hope you have a great week!

Truth in blogging: In these boards I try to use the exact items I own, but if those items aren't available online I've replaced them with visually similar items. This week, I actually own: Monday's chiffon top and wedges, Tuesdday's skirt and Minnesota state necklace, Monday's dress and wedges, Thursday;s shirt (I have a nearly identical skirt, but a brighter blue color), and Friday's maxi (although mine's teal, not green) and shoes.

One Item Three Ways: Gold Collar Necklace

Apparently this is the week of Remixing Items I Don't Even Own. See Exhibit A and Exhibit B for more ideas...

Yesterday I was innocently perusing Etsy for statement necklaces (as one is wont to do when she has a billion other things that should be done instead...ahem...) when I came across this lovely lady:

I thought it was such an interesting piece because you could play up the kind of 'animal claw' side of things and go a bit tough with it, or interpret it more as a laurel wreath/Greek piece and take it softer. And for $12 you really can't go wrong!

Since I haven't ever done a "One Item ___ Ways" post on jewelry, I thought this was an apt place to start, so I whipped up this moodboard:

One Item Three Ways: Gold Collar Necklace

Top: When you're feeling a little tough, throw this necklace on with a leather jacket, sexy leopard heels, a flowy top, and some pretty skinnies.

Middle: When you're feeling a little soft, add some lace and gold accents! This outfit makes me smile because of the subtle animal references--gold claw necklace, heels that remind me of butterflies, and a bracelet with reptilian touches.

Bottom: When you want to break out your inner boho, bust out those awesome printed trousers, pile on some fun earrings, and temper it all with shots of black in your top and heels.

Looks like I've found one more item to add to my imaginary shopping list for when I make a bazillion dollars. Although, this necklace is only $12, so maybe it'll find it's way to my house... ;)

PS: The gold bracelet and blank tank are from H&M, which just opened their online store! Go get some ladies and gents :)
