today's inspiration shots

More pretty things that inspired me today

I like the shade...I can imagine spicing up a boring roller shade with lines from a favorite song or poem...something by Pablo Neruda would be perfect for the bedroom

First of all that 'wallpaper' is actually paint and stencil....beautiful. Secondly, I like the Dorothy Draper-style bedside table. I also like the non-matching side tables with matching lamps.

What a statement piece! With art this big/beautiful you don't really need a fancy dining set

For some reason I've tried not to like this room...but I just can't. Pillow on the floor gives me the idea to turn this great rug I got in Chile that I can't really use anywhere into a pillow!

Make these, then stick garland/string lights through the hole in top. Pretty.

Debate: is the chalkboard wall here a good idea? Perfect height for kids...but also to get your pants dusty. Hmmmm.

Easy DIY art.

Overwhelming amounts of love for these doors.....so much better than french or pocket doors! Just beautiful.

I always see rattan/wicker couches on Craigslist and pass them off as too cottage-y. HOwever, painted a bright color with nice cushions, these could work really well for me until I have money for a really nice couch...

I wanna live here....

....and be her. How cute is her outfit? I want a chambray shirt NOW.

Amazing wedding dress by Anthropology? yes. please.
This pleases me. That's all.

Brightly colored stools shake up the design of these kitchen a tad.

There you have it! What do you think?

New blog format plus links

As you may have noticed, my posts lately haven't really had themes. I've taken to saving everything that inspires me each day to my desktop then just making a big post of all those things....all my favorite pictures of the day in one post. Maybe someday I'll return to a more organized format but this is quick and saves all my pics in one spot...for now at least.

Trunk + pillow = seat/storage

Caitlin Creer Interiors....love the pattern

The piping on this couch makes it that much more tailored, and I like how the x-benches in the background have contrasting piping too

The positioning of the furniture is awkward here, but I like the pieces themselves. I'd switch the chairs and the couch then center the back console between the door and wall. Stellar lacquer table though.
I'm into that rug...
Jayson Home and Garden Coco sofa....love it. Pricey but beautiful and versitile, style-wise. Could go modern, traditional, even eclectic with the right pillows/throws. mmmmm..
Jayson Home and Garden Graham sofa. More traditional....but so so pretty. Any room would instantly become tailored with this sofa.

I'm not really sure why I like this room so much....probably the doors leading outside and the big beautiful window sills. I also like the pairing of an older house with modern gray walls, gold, and a lucite table. Still on the fence about the metallic cowhides though.

Speaking of cowhides....this room is fairly fabulous and could be more so with the addition of a few metal accents. Love the bar setup!

I know I've posted this before but I ran across it again and still love it. Eclecticism at its best.

Simple yet glam office.
So so pretty! Love the gold plus teal. Instantly lifts any room to star status. I'd put a bar on top I think.

Color combo...plus the attitude of this pic is just great :)

Pretty painted floors. Funny though, I just tried painting a bench almost the exact same color and hated it...

I think the pillows stacked under the console table are genius. I'd make the pillows all different colors/patterns but unite them with the front tie...great for when you don't have company over to save space, yet provides lotsa comfy seating when you do!

This is just beautiful.

Picture on the left strikes a chord somehow. Beautiful. Would make an awesome centerpiece at a wedding if you made it a little more collected.

Also, some links that I want to remember:
The Home Centric etsy shop for gorrrrrrgeous, fairly inexpensive pillows
Butter by Nadia, for convertible bridesmaid dresses that come in several beautiful colors

Casa de Valentina

Found a new blog: Casa de Valentina, a Portuguese blog with the most beautiful images. See below...

Looks like a room a very chic woman on a tight budget could put together.

I've really been digging the ethnic vibe in rooms lately...I like the muted color palate hear (did you ever think you'd see those words on my blog??)

Large vase full of wine corks....looks artsy and interesting (and slightly alcoholic....)

Again with the ethnic/boho vibe and muted color palate, I'm into the middle photo here with the dining room

I like the muted colors but crazy pattern of this couch...makes the whole room perkier.

Graphic, and I love the navy blue plus bright pink! :)

Cool bar cart :)

Suitcases on luggage racks as tables :)

Eclectic...

Easy way to build an office: two bookcases with a space for a desk in between...I like that the chair faces out too

Looooooove this table and the suitcases for storage underneath!

Good hits of color throughout the room....it just looks comfy :)

Same deal here...comfy and inviting. I want to live there, which is always a sign of good design in my book.

I love this kitchen! Lotsa white, display shelves on the island, cute metal chairs, enough color that it's not boring, etc.

My mom is redoing her kitchen and I thought this was a good idea...wipeable wallpaper as a backsplash to add a little color/pattern.

I've always liked these chairs but thought they looked a little cold. With the wood tones and the multicolor pillow cushions I think they look vintage and homey

Not sure what I really like about the image on the right....probably the curvy kitchen table (I love me some French provincial tables)....

Colorful, inviting, and a bit boho glam....everything I'm digging right now, really

Again with the ethnic rug....I guess when I like something I really like it!

I'm trying to figure out if there's a way I can make this table for my boyfriend out of his old trunk...I like that it has the trunk-look but is easier to clean around and is a bit modernized as well. (this pic is actually from Craigslist)

So there you go! What do you think of my new favorite website?
